Speaker A:

You welcome to name givers an Earth dawn actual play podcast last time.

Speaker B:

Cloud tentacles.

Speaker A:

Yes, cloud tentacles. And I'm going to take a look at the channel, see what we yeah.

Speaker C:

We'Re just at the next round of.

Speaker A:

Combat, so why don't we see what round brings? It brings Faye first.

Speaker D:

What the heck? I'm not blast.

Speaker A:

I am.

Speaker C:

Wow.

Speaker B:

I think we all need a moment.

Speaker A:

Well, I don't.

Speaker B:

I'm right about where I belong.

Speaker A:

Yep. Yeah, I think was the last time where we ended. You got a bunch of you got attacked. What did you cast for lienstat, Noah?

Speaker D:

I was wings.

Speaker A:

Wings? Yeah. You tried to scare it and it was possible, but you failed.

Speaker D:

That's all right. I'll try again.

Speaker C:

And I was falling.

Speaker A:

Nice. Falling. Falling.

Speaker C:

I got knocked down.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I remember that.

Speaker C:

I have wings.

Speaker A:

Why don't we start with Faye then? Tentacle thing looks like it didn't hit anybody terribly hard. It hit easily in game terms. This thing actually has a very high attack step, but a damage step that does not match it. So still frighteningly high, the damage step. And there is six attacks around, but.

Speaker B:

Or six bad enough to wound me.

Speaker A:

Well, at least the damage step isn't step 34 like the attack step was. Let's just say that.

Speaker B:

Good point.

Speaker E:

All right, well, in the thought of that, let me go back to my status list with my talents. All right.

Speaker D:

What are you doing, Cat?

Speaker A:

I think Faye was on deck and had been attacked. But you didn't get knocked down or anything?

Speaker E:

Yeah, no, I'm just looking at something I don't often use.

Speaker A:

50.

Speaker E:

Okay. Yeah, we'll get a little bit wacky today. Not too wacky, of course. Where are they? I'd like to start with Spot Armor flaw.

Speaker A:

Okay, that's a good idea. That's a good one. Yeah, we haven't touched that one yet, have we?

Speaker E:

Oh, sweet. That's against mystic defense.

Speaker A:

And that hits cool. So let's look this one up. You get a good bonus out of that one.

Speaker E:

For minor, I get plus two to damage test for each success scored. So I still have to still have to hit him. But if I do hit, then it hurts more.

Speaker A:

Nice.

Speaker E:

All right, so we'll do the normal all bit of everything maneuver.

Speaker A:

I think of the spot armor fly. You notice that maybe if you swing a certain direction, you can cut through these scale like things on the arms. You can kind of get under the scale. And why does an octopus have scale? That's another sure, because okay, that was my maneuver. So that's two extra successes. Three successes. Yes. Thank you. Anticipate blow 20. So that'll hit. So that's one success. Okay.

Speaker E:

And melee weapons. Make sure I'm marking off all my.

Speaker A:

Karma and all the fun strain you're taking.

Speaker E:

Oh, crape. Yeah, no, sorry. I just butchered my Google sheet.

Speaker A:

It happens.

Speaker D:

Undo. Undo.

Speaker E:

Oh, I didn't roll the right dice. Sorry.

Speaker A:

That would have not hit.

Speaker E:

No, I hit enter instead of five.

Speaker A:

Consider those test rolls.

Speaker E:

Plus four. Wait, no. Plus eight.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's better. Wow, 47. That is four extra successes. Wait, no, sorry. Eight extra successes. Sorry. Cool.

Speaker E:

I don't know how to deal with this.

Speaker A:

Let me think. No. Okay. Sorry. My brain not working. It's in fives, right? Yes. That's 36 extra successes. Yeah, 30 divided by five is six. Cool math on this one. My God.

Speaker E:

So, let's just do some damage.

Speaker B:

I would deal with that by cackling like a loon, because holy damn.

Speaker D:

Make money.

Speaker E:

Plus.

Speaker A:

Twelve. Plus your armor flaw 14.

Speaker D:

And then isn't one of the other ones add to damage, too?

Speaker E:

No.

Speaker A:

Just the attack test. Which then in turn probably helps your defense against it. Which is something you'll need to remember, too, right? I never I don't think we remember that, ever.

Speaker E:

Which is great, because I haven't died since circle two.

Speaker A:

You died in Garris care once. That was it.

Speaker D:

That's right, too.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker E:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I think everyone's died once at this point.

Speaker D:

No, Lindsey.

Speaker B:

I remember dead.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker D:

Not yet. It's coming, but not yet.

Speaker A:

Maybe it was just very close. You got knocked out later. 33. That's really good.

Speaker E:

Sorry. No, it's actually under.

Speaker A:

That's true.

Speaker E:

I will take it. I'm sorry. I won't complain.

Speaker A:

Don't punish me. That's a good favor.

Speaker E:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay. Minus armor. Okay. So write that down. It is not a wound. Are you doing a second? Is it second attack or second weapon?

Speaker E:

Weapon. Second weapon. Yes. Oh, gosh. I'm butchering my oh, boy.

Speaker A:

The sheet again.

Speaker E:

Yeah, so just do that for second weapon.

Speaker A:

Wow. Okay, so that is one extra success.

Speaker E:

Okay, remind me to remind you something. Let me just do this.

Speaker A:

Or you just type it in.

Speaker E:

That's the damage on my porch. Long spear. But the first attack was with my flames. Grace and I had actually already attacked and hit, so I probably get like.

Speaker A:

Five extra damage or something, right? You attacked? Okay. Yeah. With a against a horror with the flames, Grace, and did damage. So let's look at step five. So you got to roll step five or just a plus five. Yeah, just roll step five. We'll just add it.

Speaker D:

No, sorry. 36.

Speaker A:

Man, I thought it was all right, so the eleven damage, that one will glance off of the scales.

Speaker E:

Fair.

Speaker A:

Do you want to give a description for this? Double attack? Two spear attack.

Speaker E:

All right, so my first attack was just meant to be plain and steady. But now that we're in the heat of the battle phase, moving with the pitch of the airship and does a spin and pushes off one of the wooded parts of the ship, for lack of a better term, and then hits one spear after the other into that tentacle.

Speaker A:

Nice. And yeah, let's go with Lindsay next.

Speaker D:

Okay, well, I'll use my free 26 against its mystic defense.

Speaker A:

That's one extra success.

Speaker D:

Okay, so it is now down four steps for the conceivable future.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker D:

And it can no longer physically attack me.

Speaker A:

Okay. But it can still mentally attack you, right?

Speaker D:

Totally.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker D:

And then I'll do my actual action.

Speaker A:

All right, what do you do?

Speaker D:

Can I chug a healing potion too while I'm at it?

Speaker A:

Simple action, but I think we determined doesn't really kick in until like an hour later. Right.

Speaker D:

I thought that was booster potions. Healing potions.

Speaker A:

Did healing potion. You can get rid of your wound right away and then it'll kick in, I think is what we determine. Because the fourth edition changed it, I think.

Speaker D:

Oh, did it?

Speaker A:

Yeah, first edition. You could just chug them and it boosts your next recovery test within 24 yeah, it's not instant. It's your next recovery test within 24 hours. So you have to do something to activate your recovery test. So I think the way that works is basically if you were using like, Fireblood or something like that, you could actually take the potion as a simple action and then have it add to your fire blood.

Speaker D:

Okay, well, I'll just do that then.

Speaker A:

But if you don't, do you have fireplace?

Speaker D:

Course.

Speaker A:

Oh, that's cool.

Speaker D:

Actually, no, I'm not hurt enough to worry about that yet.

Speaker A:

No, you can chug the potion and just next time you heal it just adds to it.

Speaker D:

Sure, I'll do that.

Speaker A:

And I think you'll lose the wound right away. It says automatically heals one wound.

Speaker D:

Okay, yeah, I'll do that then. That's fine.

Speaker A:

I think that's what we'll do just to save everyone from trying to cheese it by checking potions in combat. Fair enough.

Speaker D:

Okay, in that case, I will do a spell cast.

Speaker A:

Okay. 24. That will hit with one extra success.

Speaker D:

Excellent.

Speaker A:

All right, what are you casting?

Speaker D:

Astral spear.

Speaker A:

Astral spear, okay, good old astral spear.

Speaker D:

And I'm going to huck a couple of bone things in it because I.

Speaker A:

Can there we go. Flesh flare. That's what it's called, right?

Speaker D:

Yes, just flare, not flesh.

Speaker A:

Okay. One of my notes had it called flesh flare, but I guess maybe I changed it as flare.

Speaker D:

Just player that I as far as I know.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it probably is.

Speaker D:

The other one sounds way creepier.

Speaker A:

Sometimes I forget what the difference is between my notes and what actually happened.

Speaker D:

Okay, so we got 21 plus 627, 27, and two karma for good measure. Oh, wait, no, that's wrong. I could I do some addition here. Sorry. Pain strike.

Speaker A:

You could use the other.

Speaker D:

No, I just don't know what talent step it is.

Speaker A:

Oh, I see. Okay.

Speaker D:

It's just a straight up ad. So if I had karma to bane strike. I don't know.

Speaker A:

Is it a test?

Speaker D:

No.

Speaker A:

Then I probably can't add that's. Okay.

Speaker D:

I could still add two.

Speaker A:

Yeah, probably. If it's a test, like body control is, then you can but no. All right, 26 is that damage?

Speaker D:

Yes. No, that's fine.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Okay.

Speaker D:

Forgot to add in the bone spurs, but I'll just add them next time.

Speaker A:

Okay. All right. You can do that next time. Minus mystic armor. All right, I will write that one down. Okay. Why do I have that? Okay, next is oh, yeah. Why don't you give a description of that? Because I don't know what just happened.

Speaker D:

I do my spell cast and a spear of kind of bluey, gross looking light stuff appears in my hand, and I huck it at the tentacle and stab it in there.

Speaker A:

Nice. It just kind of cuts through it a bit, but no major wounds or anything. Seems to be hurt. Witty. All right. Okay. All right. I'll give that a try first after now, if you're on the ground still right.

Speaker C:

Assuming I was falling because I was off the ship when it hit.

Speaker A:

Okay. Yeah. Okay. So you're falling. Okay. That's fun.

Speaker C:

Thank goodness I have wings.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's always fun. All right, so then it's only got three targets. All right, I got two targets. Oh, right. It can't attack you. Well, it can cast, but there's not a whole lot of casting with this thing. Actually, there is one thing. It'll cast at you, because I got to remember that I'm looking at a sheet here of a real thing, but I'm kind of putting a mask on top of to make it more of a horror and not an actual squid. So I got a number. I can take some of these numbers and okay, we will do that. We'll use some horror karma. 32 against Lindsad's, mystic defense. How many successes is that?

Speaker D:

Let's see. 32, you say. Normally that would be two, but I'll do a take the hit. So it's only one.

Speaker A:

Okay. One extra success. I just got to look up something briefly. I'm kind of customizing something that horrors can do. All right, so next he's down minus four as well. Right. So let's go one against Gareth, 17 against your physical defense. For Gareth. What's your physical defense?

Speaker B:

Eleven, actually.

Speaker A:

Okay, so one extra success. So plus two to damage, which basically still doesn't really counteract that negative four at all. You're going to try to avoid blow or anything?

Speaker B:

I was going to say, yeah, I can do that, can't I?

Speaker A:

Okay, yes. Avoid blow or yeah, that's the only one you have. Void blow. So your goal is 17 then.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's down. But you can karma. Double karma. I can double karma because I'm on the airship.

Speaker A:

Keep track of that.

Speaker B:

Hopefully with a step 13, hopefully I'll get something.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Oh, yeah, you dodge it. So I'm curious how much karma you have left, because I love that you're burning through it.

Speaker B:

Well, after this one, I will have expended 17 out of my 40.

Speaker A:

Wow. Okay. Because I'm trying to get a sense as a GM how to put how to push the amount of karma be?

Speaker B:

I mean, granted, it's no dwindling amount of karma.

Speaker E:

24.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Not really that much higher than yours. It's only 48.

Speaker E:

Yes, that's just my feeling.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I thought you guys were like trolls.

Speaker A:

Stupidly beyond me. No, I'm kind of surprised, actually, but yeah.

Speaker B:

Extra eight karma don't happen that I have 40 karma. I'm not going to complain.

Speaker D:

No.

Speaker B:

I do take a strain, though.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Just avoid blow.

Speaker A:

Okay, so as you avoid blow, a second tentacle comes around behind you. 36 against your I think it was twelve. So that is three extra success. And eleven. Okay, that is four extra successes then I think count I can't wait. Blue.

Speaker B:

This one.

Speaker A:

God, I can't even count it's. Four extra successes. Five extra successes.

Speaker E:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

That is five extra successes. Man, my mathing is not good tonight. Yeah, you can try to avoid blue again if you want. Target 36.

Speaker B:

Oh, boy. Well, yeah, that's right there. So that makes sense.

Speaker A:

No point of strain. All right, pidly. 13 minus your armor. Physical.

Speaker B:

13 minus six. So that's seven.

Speaker A:

This thing's rolling terrible for this stuff. All right, Faye, this thing has three actions left. One for Fay. 36. What is Faye's physical defense?

Speaker E:

It's only 22.

Speaker A:

Is it 22 temporary?

Speaker E:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

All right, that's good. See, so that's two extra successes. Do you want to try avoid blow or I don't think you can repost this.

Speaker E:

Let's just roll the dice and see what happens. Or just take some strain.

Speaker A:

So you are yeah.

Speaker E:

No.

Speaker A:

All right, 18. So 19 minus your physical armor. Oh, that hurts as a tentacle. Thwaps you. What is the amount of damage you end up taking?

Speaker E:

Yeah, I'm 1313.

Speaker A:

All right. Is that a wound?

Speaker E:

That's all you wound.

Speaker A:

All right. Not enough to wound balance, though. I'm guessing because you're a troll. There's no way is it five over your wound threshold.

Speaker E:

Okay, my wound threshold is eight. So it's exactly five over my wound.

Speaker A:

Okay, yeah. Roll wound balance, then your target is five.

Speaker E:

So that's my knock down test.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker E:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I mean, you could not use wound balance, I guess, because I guess wound balance probably takes a point of strain, right?

Speaker D:

No, wound balance is free.

Speaker A:

Oh, it's free. Cool.

Speaker D:

I guess they figured you just took damage. Just mean to add more true.

Speaker A:

Whoa.

Speaker B:

Makes.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you stay in your feet, no problem. Fancy footwork, I think. Yeah. This thing takes a swipe at you, but you kind of dance around. This graceful enough? Maybe even a little. It almost knocked you over, but you did a backflip instead. No, not that graceful.

Speaker E:

Graceful enough. But I'm actually going to use my hand because I've gotten up real close and sort of wrap it around the vertical tentacle in front of me as if it were a dance partner.

Speaker A:

Nice. All right, this thing has a couple more things. Let me up here. Okay. Can't reach it. Lindstad, I did cast on him. So we'll go one for Faye. All right. So this one, unless you're going to try to avoid blow, another tentacle sneaks in behind Faye and wraps around you. You are grappled.

Speaker D:

You're grappled.

Speaker A:

And then last action, you take 15 minus armor. As you're grappled.

Speaker B:

Oh, my.

Speaker A:

As it squeezes at you.

Speaker E:

Okay, just a moment. I haven't even taken my original 13.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Do I want to fire blood and heal or do I just want to attack?

Speaker A:

Good question.

Speaker E:

So what was my second damage?

Speaker A:

15 minus armor. Physical.

Speaker E:

That's nine. So that's another wound.

Speaker A:

Oh, boy, he's hurting.

Speaker D:

No knockdown test boo.

Speaker A:

No knockdown. Well, no, because you're grappled. It's just giving you a hug, that's all. Also, I made a slight mistake. So Gareth tied the squid, so technically he should have gone first, but well, let's see what he does. Okay, I guess that makes up for last time when I forgot to give bonuses to the squid for attack when they got extra successes.

Speaker C:

Don't forget it's wounded.

Speaker A:

No, but it does have resist pain, so you can take a few wounds. But it does have negative four.

Speaker C:

I'll have to wound it again.

Speaker A:

Does have negative four from Lin Stadding, though.

Speaker B:

Lynn Statting. Is that what we're calling it?

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker D:

Really?

Speaker B:

Rob said it first, not me.

Speaker A:

You've said it before.

Speaker B:

I would like to attack the tentacle that is wrapped around Faye.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker B:

Because I want to free her.

Speaker A:

Yeah, so you can do that. No, you can't maneuver, right? Because no, you can't anticipate blow, but you can maneuver if you want.

Speaker B:

Yes, let us maneuver.

Speaker A:

That will just hit. Excellent. So that is one success. So you get plus two to your unarmed attack test.

Speaker B:

I will take it. So that's 15.

Speaker A:

E. Oh, no, that would be a Whiff 1415 with two karma. You do have your option to spend a point of karma and reroll a die thing.

Speaker B:

I do. I think I will do that.

Speaker A:

Maybe reroll the d twelve. I don't know. Or reroll the one. Get a step four.

Speaker B:

Yeah, hopefully. All right, so let's do that.

Speaker A:

Oh, wow. Step four for eleven. Yeah. You recovered it. That's good.

Speaker D:

24.

Speaker A:

What do we call that Carmen act, by the way? I'm trying to remember.

Speaker B:

I did write it down.

Speaker A:

Balance.

Speaker B:

It was yeah, that's what it is.

Speaker A:

Yeah. And where this comes from, just if anyone's curious, is that dragons actually naturally have an ability like this. It's way better than this, but similar kind of concept. So I thought as a kind of dragon path, you would pick up something like that out of this.

Speaker B:

So that's five more karma.

Speaker A:

That's a lot of karma before you even get to damage. Oh, that's awesome.

Speaker B:

I might as well use it.

Speaker A:

So let me see here. You have defective 25, 24 because it was rerolling a 124, which is an extra success. So that is you get plus two to your unarmed or to your body control. Okay, in addition to what other pluses you are applying can I.

Speaker B:

Trying to remember.

Speaker A:

Let's see.

Speaker B:

So I can do body control, which will end up being step 18. Don't I have something new that I can add?

Speaker A:

Focus Strike.

Speaker B:

Yes, that was it. Focused Strike. That is in mystic paths. Read it. The adapt. Channel is adapt. Adds a folks strike step to a damage test result. Cannot have already made an attack test. This round cannot make any okay, so just one attack. But I can add it to my damage. It can be combined with body control and crushing blow. So I can do all three?

Speaker A:

Yes, just extra strain. So you can't do second attack if you do this, but yeah, you get whole bunch of fun.

Speaker B:

Okay. And I can substitute crushing blue stuff for my strength. Step on a damage test 30.

Speaker A:

And you have option for a whole boatload of Karma there, I'm guessing.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I can do probably about four.

Speaker A:

Points of Karma if I'm guessing right. Maybe even five.

Speaker D:

Probably not for the focus strength.

Speaker A:

Oh, wait, you can't have more than three sources for Karma. I think there's like a rule of.

Speaker D:

Three that would make sense.

Speaker A:

Yes. Action.

Speaker B:

Freeze skill. Use snow on, crush and blow. Focus Strike. Action free skill use snow. I mean, it doesn't say can't use karma.

Speaker A:

No, but there is a rule where there's a maximum number of Karma can source for any test.

Speaker B:

I thought I could only do two Karma.

Speaker A:

Because you get body control. As a Gauntlet, you can spend on any damage test. And as an Air sailor, you can spend on any test aboard an airship.

Speaker B:

On an airship.

Speaker A:

Three. Yeah. So two no, three because body control as well.

Speaker B:

Oh, okay. Well, might as well.

Speaker A:

Yeah, quite a bit.

Speaker B:

So step 30 with three Karma.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker D:

Big money.

Speaker A:

Big money. 46. That'll hit. Oh, fun. Math time. All right. 20. That's five extra successes.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker D:

Wasn't that for damage?

Speaker A:

Oh, sorry.

Speaker B:

That was my damage roll.

Speaker A:

Wait, that's going to be a wound for sure. Or is it? Actually, no, it's not. But it is going to hurt a lot. We'll get Eric to give a description of that attack.

Speaker D:

Sure.

Speaker B:

Seeing that the tentacle has wrapped around Faye, I'm like, no. And I'm just going to draw back.

Speaker A:

My fist and use you can release her with this if you want to describe that.

Speaker B:

Okay. I'm going to draw back my fist and I'm going to use air to push me forward for a little extra.

Speaker A:

Umph.

Speaker B:

And as I strike, not a punch but a knifehand strike to basically kind of make it I'm imagining I'm going to fluff it and say that I hit a nerve which will make it the tentacle twitch and release her as I just deliver not only the pain of the punch, but that little to the nerve to make it go. Nah.

Speaker E:

Nice.

Speaker B:

I hit its funny bone, and I'm the only one laughing.

Speaker A:

Okay, I got to take a look at some stats here. Okay. All right, Navif, you're falling.

Speaker C:

Okay, doki. I'm back.

Speaker A:

Navith is falling. What is she doing?

Speaker C:

She's going to try to get up since she's in a knock down.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Okay, so you could do that as a standard action or do what's called a jump up test, but you are still in the air. So why don't I just get you to do, instead of a strength test, a Dex? Or if you can, do you have acrobatics or anything that's like, just along that lines of acrobatics athletics?

Speaker C:

Just looking to see what I've got.

Speaker A:

As far as talents. You know what? How about a quest or half magic with dexterity?

Speaker C:

Sure. I was just looking to see if I had anything. I have great leaps. That's it.

Speaker A:

We'll do a quest or half magic. And my justification for this is kind of part of Florannius's thing is about speed and flight. Flight is actually one of pluralis's things. And I figure a dexterity test might based on your question level plus six with the option of a devotion die.

Speaker E:

All right, so that would be question.

Speaker A:

Level, say, difficulty level ten, because that is the air. Cool. Yeah. 18. You do it extra success, even. Awesome. You do it with grease, which means, yeah, you can fly back up and attack it if you wish.

Speaker C:

Oh, I am flying back up and attacking that motor trucker. I am claw frenzying that guy again, but this time only four. Actually, you know what? We'll make it a nice even five.

Speaker A:

All right, roll.

Speaker C:

So first is unarmed combat for the first attack.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

So if I do five I hate.

Speaker B:

To put this out, but five is not an even number.

Speaker C:

Yeah, but it makes an even half. I do five, it makes six total. And there's a one of five and a ten for damage.

Speaker E:

All right, that's fair.

Speaker C:

Okay, so unarmed for the first one, which is not a claw frenzy one. You know what, we're going to put that in. That karma in there.

Speaker A:

That'Ll hit. And no extra successes, though.

Speaker C:

Okay, so we'll do damage for that one. So that's just regular old claw shape, which is 19. We're going to do some karma on that. 110 points.

Speaker A:

You feel that? It glances off of the all right.

Speaker C:

For the first of the five club frenzies.

Speaker A:

21. That'll hit. Same thing. No extra successes. Are you doing just the rolls first and then the damages after? Sure, just we'll see how many yeah. Broken just the same thing.

Speaker C:

All right, so that's two.

Speaker A:

Got the 21 the different way, but it got 21. Yeah.

Speaker C:

Okay, so that's two. That's two of them.

Speaker A:

Yes. You miss on the third.

Speaker C:

Okay. But two of them hit damage the first.

Speaker A:

Okay. You feel like it's not a lot of damage on that one.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I also feel like that isn't a lot, but after that last one actually I'll give you let you do just a description of what you do there because there's a lot going on there.

Speaker C:

Yeah. So Navis gracefully sort of like she's currently plummeting wings sort of flopped up. She almost sort of somersaults so that she gets back into a better position. Wings flip out and catch herself and she just instantly pushes up and starts to fly straight up at it and just going up through one of the to one of the tentacles and just clawing at it like just her her.

Speaker B:

Hands going.

Speaker A:

Nice as you're doing that, it's like retracting its wrap around Fayankra. And you see Emmett and Krollsk, I think his name is the elemental engineer. Both sounds familiar. Flinging bolts of flame, one illosory, one not illustrate at this thing. And as you hear a large groan as it begins just pulling away back into a cloud and everything starts kind of brightening up as everything is just rumbling around you as it pulls away and begins to retreat. Anybody going to try to follow or anything like that?

Speaker D:

I'm at least going to shoot one spell at it on its way by.

Speaker A:

Yeah, just race.

Speaker D:

Can I look in natural space, too?

Speaker A:

Yes. What was that?

Speaker E:

Chris and we know Navis doesn't stop.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

She's going to be swiping at it as it's trying to go away.

Speaker A:

Okay, well, maybe yeah. Will it lindsat do his thing? Maybe we'll roll initiative off thing because his is going to get a chance at natural space. Darryl this place is looking ugly. Eleven Monday roll of willpower check. How about an astral vanguard? Willpower check. Sure. It gives you an option for karma. I can figure as an astral vanguard, you probably are getting used to seeing ugly things in astral space.

Speaker D:

Yeah, I've done it a few times. So five plus.

Speaker A:

So there's a chance that this one is you can look at it without getting too ill. 13. Yeah, it's pretty disgusting. Fair enough. Pollution kind of a lot of just like there's actually almost like illusions in astral space for this thing that are not very pretty. Yeah. Burnt flesh, torn flesh, things like that. You're seeing gross astral, but I can.

Speaker D:

See where it is, what it's trying to retract.

Speaker A:

Yeah. You think it's actually kind of retreating into astral space into a cloud and kind of collapsing upon itself a bit, too. It's almost like an implosion. But maybe just not sure if maybe this whole thing is an illusion or it's just got an ability to shrink itself down really small.

Speaker D:

Well, I can make it explode then.

Speaker A:

Okay. What are you doing with that? Oh, yeah, we're going to roll in quick initiative on this. It does not have high initiative and you put negative four on it, so yeah. Beta two.

Speaker D:

Okay.

Speaker C:

What's my initiative?

Speaker A:

Same with Navit. All right. Good night. All right. Navy can try a thing. I'll let you all see what you get.

Speaker C:

She is going to claw frenzy this thing with the full nine.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

Now, as it's retracting, is it like going down below her that she could dive at it or not?

Speaker A:

No, above.

Speaker C:

Okay. Then she's just going to fly at it. Claw frenzy. It's going to be the full crawl frenzy, the full nine. So ten attacks total.

Speaker A:

Okay, give it a try.

Speaker C:

I guess I'll roll all of them and all the attacks at once.

Speaker D:

Do them all.

Speaker C:

That's one.

Speaker A:

That's one extra success on that one. That is two. Yeah. No, it's the same.

Speaker C:

Yeah. So the first one has one, the second one has one miss. Okay.

Speaker D:

All that strain for not much.

Speaker A:

Dang it. 17 difficulty. One of you hit it once. Great. On the knot button.

Speaker C:

All right, so that's 19 plus one. What's the 121 karma.

Speaker A:

Okay. Not a wound, but a bit of damage.

Speaker C:

Certainly 21 karma.

Speaker A:

All right. And pretty much same deal. All right. And let me check something. Yeah, it's okay. All right. And you were casting something.

Speaker D:

Yes, astral spear.

Speaker A:

All right. Holy okay. Oh, I see. Okay. So that's five extra successes.

Speaker D:

So it's plus ten. Okay. So 23 sorry, 21.

Speaker A:

I just realized something. Oh, my God.

Speaker C:

What?

Speaker A:

No, nothing. This will be interesting.

Speaker C:

I'm still going to get hurt. Yeah, it's okay.

Speaker A:

Oh, God. Okay, 44. Yeah. All right.

Speaker C:

I'm kind of used to it by now. Let's be fair.

Speaker A:

Describe Linstaff's attack.

Speaker D:

He concentrates really hard and gets an extra big spear from astral space. And he hucks it and hits dead center where he was aiming.

Speaker A:

All right. Yeah. You hit the dead center of the squid part of this thing that is compressing down as it's trying to contract into Astral space. And the role was 44 for the record, for damage. But as it's doing that, you get the spear into a very unusual nook or cranny or something in its body form. And as it compresses upon itself, it can no longer compress enough because that spear is in the way, and it instead explodes with a shower of and.

Speaker C:

I'm right on it.

Speaker A:

A shower of scales and flesh rain upon the ship to get everyone to roll dexterity. I guess if you can dodge the shower coming down upon you all dexterity.

Speaker C:

Lucky you right in the middle of it, man. I was in the sorry.

Speaker D:

I'm not sorry.

Speaker A:

That was good. Yeah.

Speaker D:

Hold on.

Speaker A:

I'm not going faye's going to get flapped by a couple of things.

Speaker B:

Behind Faye.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Lindsey will get hit something, so let me just roll some Faye. Okay. Faye takes seven minus physical armor as a piece of actually, a big chunk of a tentacle falls on her head. And Lindstad takes 24 minus armor as just as big part hits him in the head. But he's a wound link, so this hurt a lot. Step twelve. For 24. Oh God, yes. Were you in the air or were you yep.

Speaker D:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay. Are you still in the bird or you no, I'm above the ship. Yeah. Okay.

Speaker D:

I got hurt.

Speaker A:

Are you more than a couple of feet above the ground?

Speaker D:

Yes. Okay, and that's my falling damage? No, that's my knock down.

Speaker A:

Or how many yards above the ground?

Speaker D:

Probably ten yards. I usually hang out by the crow's nest.

Speaker A:

Right. Okay. So let me do it. Actually first even odd.

Speaker D:

Odd because he is okay.

Speaker A:

You begin to fall off the ship. Navith, you noticed that Lindstad just got taken out by one of those tentacles and he falls.

Speaker C:

She I give a whistle so that my lizard hears me and will follow. And I dive down because I'm closer and I'm going after trying to catch limbsat.

Speaker D:

I think the problem is that he got some of the goo on his wings and they're not working, hence why.

Speaker C:

She'S going after him.

Speaker A:

All right, maybe I'll get you again to roll Dexterity Questera floran us.

Speaker C:

Okay, seven and five is twelve and I'm going to add my bonus to that.

Speaker A:

And I'm assuming Lindsey is still conscious though, right?

Speaker D:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay. Yeah, that's two extra successes. So yeah. Describe how you rescue him.

Speaker C:

So as she like, whistle. She like gives a piercing whistle so that her lizard follows, but she just closes her wings and dive bombs down and catches herself just beneath Slimstat and puts her arms out, catching him like the bridal, like carries them over the threshold style. She catches him that way and lets herself drop a little bit so that neither of them takes the damage and just grins at him. I got you. And then puts him onto her lizard as it arrives.

Speaker A:

So cool.

Speaker C:

She pats his head. I got you.

Speaker A:

Meanwhile, Faye, you have a tentacle laying over your head.

Speaker E:

It didn't hurt that much.

Speaker A:

Probably pretty gross. Oh yeah.

Speaker E:

No, we're swiping it off right away. We're not hanging on to that.

Speaker A:

Yeah, Galisa is looking around going, oh my God, we're going to need to clean this ship quite a bit.

Speaker B:

Dump it off the side before Lindsack.

Speaker A:

Gets it to eat.

Speaker D:

Eat that.

Speaker E:

You're gross.

Speaker D:

What's wrong with you?

Speaker B:

I don't know. It's raw fish like thing. Who knows what you enjoy eating?

Speaker C:

It's a horror. That's disgusting.

Speaker D:

You don't eat things that want to eat you.

Speaker C:

Well, sometimes you do. You just don't eat horror.

Speaker B:

There's a large circle of life that would say otherwise.

Speaker C:

You just don't eat horror gross things.

Speaker A:

Like I said, what do I know.

Speaker B:

Of Linstat's eating habits?

Speaker E:

Well, you could I believe you're the chef.

Speaker C:

What have you been feeding us?

Speaker B:

I'm worried not whores, I'll tell you that much.

Speaker D:

Okay, well, let's deal with that after. Come on, everybody, time for healing.

Speaker C:

Okay, good. I'm hurt. Not very physically. I pulled some muscles.

Speaker D:

I'll just do the usual, I think.

Speaker A:

What I'll do is just get it because there isn't any plan to other things unless you do something weird the next day or so, I can raise the damage. And you, narratively, are healing people. That's just the wounds. You'll have to figure out how you're dealing with phase wounds, because I think she has like, three or four.

Speaker E:

I have one, two.

Speaker C:

Once they're back at the ship fully, she, like, slops on the deck in a small spot that's kind of clean. Slops onto it. I am so wounded. I have pulled so many muscles. And I have an ouchy right here where it hit me. And she points out to like, where.

Speaker A:

She 34 damage for Faye. That's nice.

Speaker B:

Healing myself.

Speaker E:

Yeah, that was just this last couple of hits, I had 33.

Speaker A:

Nice.

Speaker C:

Yeah. The majority of my damage was all done. Self inflicted.

Speaker E:

Yeah, right.

Speaker C:

Her strain figure she just pulled muscles. I cracked a small feeling for everybody.

Speaker E:

Yeah. I'm pretty sure ten of my damages is all me.

Speaker D:

So let's lynch that narratively. We'll feed you some nice warm beef jerky.

Speaker C:

She actually makes him feed it to her.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

And then just does recovery until everybody's feeling better.

Speaker C:

You should heal instead. You should get grapes.

Speaker D:

Warm grapes are gross, though.

Speaker C:

Fair enough.

Speaker B:

So we're all good on healing and karma. Yeah.

Speaker A:

So karma, you can reset in the next day. Nothing necessarily happening. You'll overhear. Krollska kind of chatting with Galdiza, asking, is this something that happens normally on this ship?

Speaker D:

She'll be like, yeah.

Speaker A:

I'll get to Lynnstadt and Navis, though, to both roll a perception or awareness.

Speaker B:

I just asked about the healing and the Karma to make sure I'm unclicking the right number of boxes.

Speaker A:

Yeah, the Karma reset the next day.

Speaker C:

This is the same day, right?

Speaker A:

Yeah, same day. Even I was I could probably make the argument for Gareth, but we'll see. You two are the first obvious ones, I think. Yeah. Lindsey 26. Since you're probably flying about still once in a while, you're not that hurt. Later on, you're noticing that some of the runes on the hull of the ship are glowing again. Like way back when you crushed that or not. You weren't there, but you heard about it. Certainly when the ship crushed the carebreaker, you had heard about the rune thing. Yeah. There's some glowy. Not astral, because astral was always kind of there, but just in physical. It's kind of glowing right now.

Speaker D:

I'll take a look at our natural space.

Speaker A:

Yeah, they're just really bright in Astral space as well, too. I'm just going to assume that you can given enough time, you can get yourself an astral. Yeah. So you haven't seen it do this in the physical before.

Speaker D:

That's neat. It's got glowy things on it.

Speaker C:

She'll fly over and look at them.

Speaker A:

Do I kind of remind you of the rights of pass protection?

Speaker C:

Is it because we've heated up a horror with it?

Speaker D:

I don't know. Maybe I'll, like I'll have a look at it.

Speaker C:

There's some rooms on the ship glowing.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

But, like, in the physical, not just in astral.

Speaker E:

Oh, neat.

Speaker B:

Is this a good thing?

Speaker C:

I don't know if that's what it did before.

Speaker D:

Probably.

Speaker B:

Very odd.

Speaker D:

Do some, like I'm gonna.

Speaker A:

Sorry. Let's go with yeah. Lindsay or Noah?

Speaker D:

I want to see if I can figure out what's going on with it and maybe do what is it? Item history.

Speaker A:

Yeah. So that takes a bit of time. And Pam, what were you doing?

Speaker C:

She's going to go up and ask Galisa about it.

Speaker A:

Okay, cool.

Speaker C:

She just flies up and, like, lands near Galisa or just sort of wherever she is. Lands nearby.

Speaker A:

Yeah. She's at the helm.

Speaker C:

Hey. She just, like, lands near the on the helm. Hey.

Speaker A:

Yeah, she's a little overwhelmed.

Speaker C:

Runes on the ship that are glowing now.

Speaker A:

Oh, they're glowing again.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Oh, wait, I can't take a look. Well, I could take a look if I got some ropes.

Speaker C:

I can take the help.

Speaker A:

Yeah, why don't I go check now.

Speaker C:

Is, like, on the ship's wheel holding it like, gee, I got the helm. Garrett.

Speaker B:

Oh, God. Gareth looks up like, oh, air. Lord.

Speaker C:

I am strong.

Speaker A:

We'll get Navis to roll a air sailing test.

Speaker C:

I do have that skill. Air sailing is a whole whopping seven.

Speaker A:

All right. This guilty is only, like, four in good weather.

Speaker C:

I'm doing just fine. She's, like, sitting on it, using her wings to keep it steady.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you're right. Because the helmet is kind of large.

Speaker C:

She sits on it and is just using her wing power to keep it steady.

Speaker A:

Yeah. So that explains the extra success, I guess, or almost extra success in there.

Speaker C:

She's just like, yeah.

Speaker A:

God, that's funny.

Speaker C:

As long as the weather stays good, we should be fine.

Speaker A:

And Glaze comes back after climbing down there. Yeah. It looks less ugly than the Carebreaker ruins looked. That's interesting. I hope it's good. Is it good? And she points at her eyes and goes, does it look good in.

Speaker C:

That? Is looking towards it. It's been there before. The rooms were there before, but not physically glowing that people could see normally.

Speaker A:

Yeah. I'll get Linstat roll item history.

Speaker C:

Yeah. Lindsett's looking into it.

Speaker A:

No. Yeah. You can't figure out what's going on to this right now, but it looks.

Speaker D:

Fine in astral space.

Speaker A:

Yeah. It's not looking ugly or anything. It's just brighter than usual.

Speaker D:

I got to do some more stuff with it and figure it out.

Speaker C:

That means he doesn't know. He doesn't have any clue.

Speaker A:

She just grins up.

Speaker D:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And yeah. She will take the helm back and yeah. You can basically ride the rest of the day. I think it was the next day, you'll be in deji.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Anybody doing anything overnight or just healing?

Speaker C:

No, just trying to heal. Get my wound to heal.

Speaker A:

Yeah. If anyone's using up healing potion or saviclosure. Take that off the inventory.

Speaker B:

I thought Lindset healed us until.

Speaker C:

Wounds take their own time to heal. Once you're healed, right?

Speaker A:

Yeah. The next morning you can have your wounds. One wound go away.

Speaker B:

I only have the one wound, so I'm good.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker D:

Are there some healing potions for sale in town, though?

Speaker A:

Oh, of course there will be. I'm just checking to make sure you have inventory.

Speaker D:

Yes. I want to buy a couple more to replace my stock.

Speaker B:

That might be a good idea.

Speaker A:

All right. Just roll for weather. Lowers better. Yeah, it's all right. It's a little bit like not stormy, but a little more wind than expected. I'll give Gareth to roll a air sailing because I feel like, gareth, you might be interested in trying to land, right?

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Doing the landing. Yeah. And Gleeze is going to ask you to do it, actually, because she's like, oh, this is good. Bad weather test, bad weather practice. Your difficulties. Seven.

Speaker D:

Can I help them with my air sailing?

Speaker A:

Yeah. So if you get any successes how about you roll it first? If you get any extra successes, you got one success. Gareth can add plus one, we'll say, because it's one success.

Speaker E:

Okay.

Speaker D:

Helping out as a crew.

Speaker A:

Helping out. Holy wow. 24 normally describe. Okay. So you will be landing probably in the water, actually. The Serpent River goes by Dei Chi. And last time what we did is landed the boat as if it was a boat that landed the airship as if it was a boat and then sailed it in. So maybe if you can think of a good description for how he would come in.

Speaker B:

I think he is going to take the wheel and he's going to take a moment to center himself because he's still learning, so he's still a little unsure. But he calls out to Navith and to Lynn Stat to help get the ropes rigged in the right way. Up top, he has Faye and another of the crew member get the lower rigs and everything. He personally cites the landing zone through, like, I don't know, do they have telescopes or spyglasses or something?

Speaker A:

Yeah. I would assume.

Speaker B:

He'Ll take a look and he'll call out where they're landing and kind of take it in for a shallow decline, nothing drastic. And he'll kind of tilt the prow of the ship up so it kind of comes in more towards the mid rather than point first. And then he'll let the tip drop and he'll just kind of let it coast right. Kind of down the middle of the river.

Speaker A:

You'll notice there's a few other ships kind of parked at Deichi. Yeah. You can go in and begin kind of docking procedures.

Speaker C:

Totally rolling to see how Nathan does helping.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Roll out about eleven.

Speaker C:

She actually does okay. She does end up tangled in the ropes.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Favorable awareness.

Speaker B:

One more thing. If I may.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I think as he lands and the water splashes and comes up the side he just continues on and on breaking the ship as he does. So there's this little against the dock.

Speaker A:

I guess on a 24 you can definitely get that. Yeah.

Speaker B:

And Gareth just smiles and goes like a glove.

Speaker A:

Yeah. I could fade a role in awareness.

Speaker E:

Well let's see. Awareness with two wounds.

Speaker A:

It'll be fun. It would be one wound by now. The next day.

Speaker E:

Oh it is the next day. Well whatever, it's close enough if you.

Speaker B:

Need one it's cool.

Speaker A:

So yeah, as you're probably not paying too much maybe I don't know. What do you think she'd be doing that would be kind of distracting her.

Speaker E:

When we're pulling in.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker E:

She'S organizing herself. She's getting everything ready to go so she's less focused on the ship and the surroundings and more focused on are my spears in the right place? Do I have a little light reading material, a little coins to get something fresh to eat et cetera.

Speaker A:

As you're doing that you hear this whoosh sound go past you. The kind of flaming kind of whoosh sound. Do you think Simmer just flew over your shoulder and off the deck? Went somewhere you don't see where.

Speaker C:

Face.

Speaker E:

Kind of panic a little bit and sort of run up to the edge and sort of peer over to make sure he hasn't fallen in because he's fire it's water. I don't know how it works really. Talk to me.

Speaker A:

I'll get Lynched out to roll a elementalism spirit thing. So elementalist path, magic perception. Sure. I think Gareth is busy landing the ship to be I can't remember what.

Speaker D:

My involved what place.

Speaker B:

I would think so.

Speaker D:

Okay, I could do this.

Speaker A:

Oh that's really good. Okay. 14. Yeah. You're kind of elementalist elementals sense kind of going off and then you're realizing oh it's similar but he's not on board anymore. He just went over the north side where he's going in the wrong direction. Yeah. If you go over there you'll see that he is basically making a beeline for the docks. As you're landing he's kind of flying somewhat and he's headed towards what you recognize to be Barge. The ogre heading straight for him.

Speaker D:

Sure, it's fine. He's just going to visit Barge.

Speaker A:

You say that to Faye?

Speaker D:

Oh yeah, that's out loud.

Speaker E:

Okay. Feel like birch. Birch is cool.

Speaker D:

He's good people.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker E:

Maybe they know each other.

Speaker D:

Poker people. I don't know. He's fine.

Speaker A:

People see that when he plans there you see like in the distance you can kind of see Barge is very confused looking, partly scared. He's obviously he's a big ogre and it's just kind of dancing circles around him. Kind of like a dog that met its owner kind of thing.

Speaker D:

I will fly off the ship and go and try and intercept that problem situation.

Speaker A:

And he's kind of like oh my God, what's going on?

Speaker D:

Barge. It's okay. Barge.

Speaker A:

It's friendly. Don't what is flame dog thing? Bart. What is flame fox thingy barking at me? What is this?

Speaker D:

Yeah, it's like an elemental thing, but.

Speaker A:

It'S friendly and roll. A awareness. Let's just go straight awareness for this man.

Speaker E:

Faye's a couple steps behind, but she's.

Speaker A:

Definitely moving in that direction. Yeah. Lindsay can just fly off, whereas you kind of have to wait for them to lower the plank and 17.

Speaker D:

Okay, sorry. Just get my step number.

Speaker B:

I think Gareth will be last because he is tying up the ship. Wow.

Speaker A:

Noah on a 30. You clue in that it is similar is kind of saying something. So I'm guessing you would just, like, clue in with, like, an elemental tongues or spirit talk or something like that. And you're basically hearing it say Octok. Octalk. Octalk. And very happily.

Speaker D:

Oh, yeah. Is this your buddy?

Speaker C:

Is this the people you were looking for?

Speaker A:

Are you saying that in spirit talk?

Speaker E:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Okay. All right. It says this one octok. Octok.

Speaker E:

Also octok.

Speaker D:

Yes. Oh, so trolls.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker D:

No problem.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

He's an October. Do you want to say something?

Speaker A:

He's more of a troll. He's an ogre or ogre, but you should remember that he said the same of Faye. Yeah.

Speaker D:

Octok. An Octuck is just somebody really big.

Speaker A:

Octok is Octok and looks confused.

Speaker D:

Do you want to say something to him? I could pass it on.

Speaker A:

It'll say I do, but I don't know what to say. Can't remember. And yeah, Barge will say what it's saying. It was to tell you something, but.

Speaker D:

I can't remember what it was.

Speaker A:

Can I pat it? Yes. Will it hurt?

Speaker D:

I don't think so.

Speaker A:

He kind of reaches down. It's kind of really awkward because he's huge. This is a really small thing. And he tries to pat. He's like, oh, fox thing hurt, but nice fox thing.

Speaker B:

It is on Fox.

Speaker A:

You're six. Yes.

Speaker E:

Okay.

Speaker D:

I cast recovery at him.

Speaker A:

Meanwhile, this elemental is kind of not cozying up to him in the way that would, like, hurt him, but it's just like being super friendly. Yeah, you can just cast a heal him, I think, at this point. Yeah. Faye, you can arrive.

Speaker E:

Looks like you found a new friend.

Speaker D:

Are you saying octuck again?

Speaker E:

Oh, really? Yeah. I wonder what that actually means.

Speaker D:

Me neither. You should research that.

Speaker E:

Yeah. How big is Deici?

Speaker A:

It's a smallish town, but big enough to have a few different neighborhoods, districts, that kind of thing. There's at least, like, four or five taverns in this town to give it a sense of, like, that kind of size. The only one that you know terribly well, though, is the Elation Flame, of course. Yes.

Speaker E:

Pub that's any kind of library would.

Speaker A:

Be a personal and not a yes entirely. Yeah.

Speaker E:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

Navis, are you coming down to this, or are you going into your full garb?

Speaker C:

She's getting into full garb first.

Speaker A:

Yeah, because you know me. Lush is here.

Speaker C:

Yeah. Basically, she did her job to help get in and then just instantly went down to the hold where she has all the animals because she set up her room there with them. And she's, like, getting changed and sort of smoothing everything out. And she's getting the orb before she had, and then she's heading out okay. To go find it.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Gareth can follow as well, if you would like. I'm sure it's all kind of dealt with all the docking stuff at this point.

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah. He wanted to help, and he'll do what he can because he's trying to learn more about the ship and air sailing and everything. But after a certain point, it's out of his knowledge, and Galisa is probably like, no, we got this. You go. So he's like, okay. And he follows after Faye and the changed and ready to rumble navis ready.

Speaker C:

To rumble in her fancy year.

Speaker D:

Okay.

Speaker B:

I fully expect a rumble of some kind.

Speaker E:

It's true.

Speaker C:

I think there's still blood on this one from last time.

Speaker A:

Faye, you notice around the same spot where there was a poster board that had the whole poetry reading on it, there's now a sign there that says or a poster that now says, poetry is banned from Taichi, at least until STRASSA 1519, which is basically until next year.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker E:

So Faye kind of surreptitiously reorders the work in her bag so that the good stuff isn't on top.

Speaker D:

The good stuff, I think it's, you.

Speaker A:

Know, it says by order of Teresia, which you might have remembered as the kind of current I don't know if overload is the right term for her, but she's the winling who runs Stagy.

Speaker E:

Cool. I understand.

Speaker A:

As we can. And Barge is just looking down at the simmer, and he's looking over at the rest of you, and it's like, where you go? Where have you been?

Speaker C:

Oh, we've been everywhere.

Speaker A:

Oh, barge still here. Barge security now for Elation Flame, though sometimes.

Speaker C:

Yay. Good job. That's where we're headed next.

Speaker A:

Oh, good.

Speaker C:

Or at least that's where I'm headed. I don't know about these guys.

Speaker A:

Maybe I just drink there now. Let's go.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker A:

And he'll very slowly lumber in that direction.

Speaker C:

And she's got her bag, like a special bag that she has the orb in, and she's, like, carrying it because the orb is pretty big for her. Thank you. Be careful with it, please.

Speaker E:

Always.

Speaker C:

You're the best.

Speaker E:

Shabby yourself, little one.

Speaker C:

And she hugs face head.

Speaker A:

Yeah. You'll notice that the pub more or less looks the same, but has been repaired, of course, of any damage from last time. Last time's incident, it's not as popular as before, but still popular enough. As you enter in, there is a different bartender. There now a ORC instead of there was a bunch of humans, several brothers. You don't know what happened to them. They were the original owners of the previous place, but they're no longer there. That you can tell. There's just an ORC and discrain behind the bar. I think Navith, you would recognize right away that and I just need to check something.

Speaker E:

So Barge and I are going into Simmer. Follow us.

Speaker A:

Yeah. He follows both of you. He's like kind of going between both of you. Almost like two owners kind of thing.

Speaker E:

Does he react to the barkeeper?

Speaker A:

Not at all, no. And on the stage, actually just kind of performing tricks is Milosh and he is in a flaming outfit, bright and yeah, so bright that it kind of brings its own light kind of thing and performing kind of the equivalent of magician kind of tricks.

Speaker C:

The wave to him.

Speaker A:

Oh, it is. It's novice. And he bows for the three people that are in the audience watching.

Speaker C:

She applauds quite loud, as loudly as she can.

Speaker A:

Navis. And how are you? Still lots of glitter? Oh, yeah, Mueller still has quite a few glitters left. Yes.

Speaker C:

Oh, good. I actually found something interesting.

Speaker A:

Do tell, do tell. Two drinks or wait, no. How many looks around how many drinks.

Speaker D:

And like, keep them coming, keep them coming.

Speaker A:

Drinks for all. Drinks for all. And you see the order sigh and be like, you know, we're not going to make any money with free drinks for around for the heroin flame. Yeah. I think the orb kind of rolls his eye a bit and then gets all the drinks for everyone.

Speaker C:

She's going to sort of take the orb, put it on the table and open up the bag. So, yeah, when we put this in Fire, there's some fire dancer that comes.

Speaker E:

Out.

Speaker A:

And we'll do a quick role for you. Oh, fire dancer? You know, fire dancer, like capital F, capital D. Fire dancer, yeah.

Speaker C:

Oh, we found the bodies of five. Of five? Was it five?

Speaker A:

I think it was five grand. Can frown. And he frowns at hearing that his.

Speaker C:

Tail droops a little.

Speaker A:

Yeah, tail droops a little is a bit of a frown. His crest goes down a little bit.

Speaker C:

Yeah. Her spirit is still in the orb that she made and so she can talk to us and stuff. I'm trying to return their belongings back.

Speaker A:

And whose spirit is this?

Speaker C:

No, snow.

Speaker A:

Snow.

Speaker E:

Right.

Speaker B:

I will say that Gareth is there. Of course. He's just being quiet and letting Navis talk.

Speaker A:

Ulik. Yeah, uligh.

Speaker C:

Stone shaper. Firewalker.

Speaker A:

Then he stops to think and we'll just throw a quick thing. Oh, yeah, he seems to know. All right. He says as firewalker, as in Nimar firewalker. As his crest goes back up and.

Speaker C:

His tail goes back up, she tilts her head.

Speaker A:

I Nimar firewalker and I'll get navit roll Maybe a perception plus quester, like a half magic quester. Perception five. Okay, so you just barely remember. There was some mention by Ulig of being descended from anemar but you don't.

Speaker C:

Know Anyamar was she mentioned anemar.

Speaker A:

And I think this both milosh looks over at Faye and says, you are quite obviously a troll. Have you heard of Emar firewalker? I don't know that Faye has necessarily.

Speaker E:

I have no reason to believe that she has specifically no.

Speaker A:

Yeah, okay. The firewalkers were of the southern highland trolls. Perhaps you are no northern, if my ability to place your accent is correct.

Speaker E:

Yeah, I'm from small northern care.

Speaker A:

I see. Well, the highland trolls of the south of the Twilight Peaks firewalker is a well known name there, especially Nimar. Nimar was the historical troll who brought airships back to the world. I'm sure she has. Go ahead.

Speaker E:

Many songs told of her.

Speaker A:

Yes, many, many. I think this might pique Gareth's interest too.

Speaker B:

I'm listening.

Speaker A:

Because history of airships, probably a fun thing to for sure say yes, she was. There's a legend that says some passion. It's never really clear if there was a passion or something else or nonetheless something guided Nimar to a deep underground. Care isn't the right word, because it was before the scourge. Some sort of, I don't know, almost like the kingdom of Thrall. But not the kingdom of Thrall from long, long ago. It opened up in the Twilight Peaks and Nimar went down into there. One of the things her and her party discovered was old airships from long, long ago. A time no one really remembered much about. And she brought these airships to her clan and brought, of course, honor back to her clan. She had been, I believe, cast out at the time. And this is how the highland trolls well, the Crystal raiders began, really. And the Twilight Peaks the trolls of the Twilight Peaks became known for airships was because of Nimar firewalker.

Speaker C:

Well, that's cool.

Speaker B:

That is quite interesting.

Speaker E:

It would be interesting if she had descendants living to this day. I wonder if we could find that out.

Speaker C:

I don't know if Ulik has any other family or not. We could ask her.

Speaker E:

Seems like a good idea.

Speaker C:

Should we just do it right here with everybody around, or do we do it somewhere else?

Speaker B:

I think we should do it somewhere a little more discreet.

Speaker C:

Because we have to put the orb into fire for her to come out.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it's a bit of a ritual thing. You would understand.

Speaker C:

Do a thing. So we should probably is there like a private room with a fire here?

Speaker A:

And Milosh kind of looks around, goes well, not in this place, but perhaps. I, of course, have a celebratory area. We could do something there, but then but then again, might attract the attention of a lot of others as he looks around. Politically, this place isn't the most stable, of course, because only been a few months since we have kind of rested this place from Garthik.

Speaker C:

Maybe we do it somewhere else.

Speaker A:

Perhaps.

Speaker B:

Good idea.

Speaker A:

Upstream a bit or something.

Speaker C:

Yeah, we could do that.

Speaker A:

We could take a short boat ride.

Speaker C:

Okay. And on the way, I can tell you all the rest that we discovered there.

Speaker A:

And as you do that, everyone roll awareness. As you're mentioning that.

Speaker E:

Awareness.

Speaker C:

With karma. With karma.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker C:

No. Not aware today.

Speaker D:

Oh, dear.

Speaker A:

She is just in the conversation. Yep.

Speaker C:

She is totally, like, stuck on telling him what is happening right now.

Speaker B:

Apparently, so am I.

Speaker A:

Fairly lynstad's really.

Speaker C:

Lindstadt's, like, not paying a dead attention of, look, he's heard the story before.

Speaker A:

So two, four, four and 39. So on 39, Lindstadt is really, really, really paying attention as basically you'd notice that the doorway is danding and looking rather menacing looking. You see this windling in dark leather, rather black and gray wings. Even her skin is fairly dark with tattoos. Very menacing demeanor to her. And she looks very important and very in charred. And she enters in gosling. Yes. Kind of a gothling, you could say.

Speaker D:

I will look over to her and be like, hey, how are you doing? Menacing winning. Would you like a drink?

Speaker A:

Where are you?

Speaker D:

I'm Lynnstadt.

Speaker A:

Lynnstadt who?

Speaker D:

Lynnstadt of the bringers of hope.

Speaker A:

Oh. And she'll lighten up a little bit and be like, oh, good work. And she just goes past you and straight to Milosh. You can gather that maybe she heard of you from the incident before, and she hears a Milosh. I am still in need of some more I don't know, troops, I guess, is a good term. Have you found any more adepts or half adepts or I don't know anyone. Some Braun. What about the what about this Ogre over here? Maybe we can get him to help with this. And Milosh kind of sighs and stops and goes over and chats with her kind of quietly off in the corner. And if you're not interrupting or anything, he'll come back in a minute.

Speaker C:

She's going to try to listen.

Speaker A:

Yeah. You've got something to kind of try to listen, maybe you can do an awareness, I guess, just to kind of try to.

Speaker C:

She tries to scooch a little closer.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Okay.

Speaker B:

Admittedly, I think that would catch even Gareth's attention.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I think Gareth could probably do a half magic with Gauntlet for kind of air kind of thing. Like, tuning your hearing up, I think would be kind of an aerial mental thing.

Speaker B:

Oh, that would be fun. Okay, perception, then.

Speaker A:

Yeah. Perception plus circle option of card.

Speaker B:

Okay. I am circle eight. So that's 14 plus eight. Correct. That's how that works.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

So that's 22.

Speaker A:

Both navith and Gareth. Both over here. She references something or someone called Zomb's Fate and then later says ZF, as if it's kind of a short form for Zomb's fate requires more broad for plans. Perhaps convince the Ogre to go with or perhaps well, not these add ups. I need people who are just going to follow orders. I. Don't need experienced ad ups. I need fresh ones. I don't care where you get them. We need this, or we're going to have problems with the Dennerastus bill. We need something to happen to Zomb, as you know, and you overhear him, basically kind of say, I shall attempt to do so, my lady. Though while the Ogre does not appreciate the desirostus, for sure, he doesn't necessarily feel he owes us either. It's hers up. That's kind of what you get out of it. As he comes back over, and she just kind of leaves. And Melosh is definitely taking her Theresia. Yes, this is Teresia.

Speaker C:

She's going back to my notes.

Speaker A:

Yes. She has a bit of a reputation of being a not nice dwindling. Yes. She was second hand to Garthik at one point. She was kind of the one who made people disappear if they were bad to Garthik. But she's turned on him since and is running Dei G, basically, and she's not a fan of the Dinarastus who took over Kratos.

Speaker C:

Okay, so what was that all about?

Speaker A:

Sorry you had to see that. Teresa is a little impatient lately. She's worried about how long the Danarasus hold on to Kratos, that that could become a more permanent situation over there.

Speaker C:

Who's Zomb?

Speaker A:

Zomb. Zom Danarastus. The one who runs Kratus.

Speaker C:

Right, okay. And what's his fate? He just smiles at him, blinking.

Speaker B:

Gareth just kind of sips his drink, goes, we didn't just see it, friend.

Speaker A:

And he will kind of wave in the air with a bit of a flourish and go, well, her skills in listening, perhaps the element of air are quite good. What circle are you, anyways?

Speaker B:

I am a level eight Gauntlet, and I am just now learning air sailing.

Speaker A:

Oh, circle eight. Yes. Okay, so you are experienced.

Speaker C:

Yeah, we all are.

Speaker A:

Oh, boy. Yeah. No wonder.

Speaker B:

I would assume that's why I would assume that's why she said she didn't want us because we didn't follow orders real well.

Speaker A:

Yes. She likes predictability.

Speaker B:

Lower circle addicts, lower.

Speaker A:

Circle add ups, and kind of non add ups that have magic and half add ups. And those kinds, they tend to follow orders a bit better.

Speaker E:

They also tend to scatter in fear more easily.

Speaker A:

True.

Speaker E:

I used to be that adept.

Speaker B:

It honestly sounds like she wants cheap expendable labor.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's one way to put it. She really wants Zomb out of there, and, well, she knows someone or something. I really do not know much about this individual, who apparently is on her side and very skilled at the arts, like she is the assassination type of stuff and can basically bring this about pretty quickly. But we need people to be able to follow orders and help take the rest of the city back orders. It's not just getting rid of Zomb, and he's certain to have installed lots of loyalists everywhere. It kind of needs to be something that happens all at once. I don't know who the Zomb's fate is but all I know is they are very intimidating enough to make Teresa take them seriously. Well she takes everything seriously as you can see but she does seem to have a tickle of fear for this one.

Speaker E:

Seems okay.

Speaker B:

I can't exactly say I understand the entire situation so I can't exactly speak on if we should help or not to be completely honest.

Speaker A:

Well that is up to you. My only I don't know, instinct is that perhaps Barge here. I know he has been a little and he'll look over at Barge and go I know you haven't wanted to really stay here. You have spoken of your village correct? And he'll kind of nod and go and either wanting to go back, but not sure since your friend has died and he kind of sadly nods. And you might remember from last time he had a friend who had died during the kind of insurrection that took over Grantus or took over Deji and kratis perhaps can help get him home or even just I don't know, maybe he could be handy on an airship. Who know? I think he's getting probably pretty bored here and quite frankly and he'll make the drinky drinky motion when he's not looking.

Speaker E:

I think that's a fine idea.

Speaker B:

I think now that I can say we wouldn't mind doing taking someone back to their home if that's where they.

Speaker C:

Want to go then yeah on our.

Speaker D:

Airship we don't have enough.

Speaker A:

We don't.

Speaker E:

Really operate under the radar so much so we might not be.

Speaker D:

Over.

Speaker E:

I'm not sure any of us are.

Speaker C:

I prefer to go over things.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

When have I ever been stealthy?

Speaker A:

Garrett just shrugs me. Let's just say that's why I don't think it's appropriate for your group to necessarily help our political stuff going on here but yeah I really don't think Barge is appropriate for all this. And I know Tracy is just on a war path to make him useful here. Not that she would take him out per se unless she has certain others because he hasn't really actually slighted anyone but she certainly hasn't been very nice to him.

Speaker B:

Then yes. Perhaps we should take Barge away from all of this.

Speaker C:

Yeah. I mean if he wants to barge I'll fly over. Like wander over to Barge. Barge.

Speaker A:

He's still staring at summer. Kind of like pretty barge. Yeah.

Speaker C:

Do you want to go home?

Speaker A:

Home? Barge's village.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

The mountains.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

We could take you there maybe on an airship. Yeah we could take you on our airship.

Speaker A:

Barge. Funny thing, barge think. Well there's my home village and there is also a village in Twilight I wanted to see. Wow. Could you go there?

Speaker D:

Yes and yes.

Speaker A:

Really?

Speaker C:

Sure.

Speaker D:

Just so happens we have to go that way.

Speaker A:

Well that's good. This thing come with us.

Speaker E:

And he points at timber, probably goes where he wants.

Speaker C:

He'll come with us if you'd both come on the airship.

Speaker A:

Okay, that sounds good. And he drinks, like, down another giant. Probably bigger than a schooner. Kind of like drink a triple pint. I don't know. Bucket belt belches out bucket. Not very graceful. That sound good? Barge board here, and I'm going to get Gareth to roll a balance seeker. So it's like plus two, I think, for you. Plus perception.

Speaker B:

Okay. Perception would be step six. So step eight.

Speaker A:

Yeah, in this case. Sounds good.

Speaker B:

Not as good as my perception for half magic, but forgot.

Speaker A:

Well, this is a half magic, but it's the balance seeker health magic. That's fair. Plus karma, if you like, definitely 15. So you realize you're understanding kind of what Simmer is kind of saying as this is happening. This is just like before, you were not sure why you were understanding, but now you're understanding even better. And I think Gareth kind of comes to the realization that you're able to understand elemental somehow now. And in game terms, this means your second talent for balance seeker is now elemental tongues. And that you've learned the elemental tongue of flame while listening to this thing kind of chattering.

Speaker B:

Where do I put that down?

Speaker A:

So it's a talent. Talent. No, in this case it is a talent. It's your second talent for battle seeker, so you'll have to spend legend points to bring it up to rank one, rank two, whatever you want to do. But you've learned elemental flame language with this.

Speaker B:

Nice.

Speaker A:

And you're hearing it saying UK tuck and oh, yes, please let's go. And you also notice that its ears kind of perk up when someone mentions the Twilight Peaks. Oh, as if something is familiar. And then ears go down. And then someone says it again, ears go down. Almost like it's familiar, but it's not sure why it's familiar.

Speaker B:

I think Gareth will as he's kind of lost this thought, just kind of lean down and go. You want to go to the Twilight twilight Peaks, right?

Speaker A:

Yeah. Twilight Peaks.

Speaker B:

You want to go to Twilight Peaks.

Speaker A:

And you're noticing actually through your balance secret magic that you just spoke in elemental tongues with that. I think that might notice that, too.

Speaker B:

I think the old table would notice that.

Speaker D:

I think I've drank too much.

Speaker C:

No, he's fucking funny.

Speaker A:

Simmers like Twilight Peak. Peak. Peak. Something. I don't know. Something familiar. Something sounds familiar.

Speaker B:

Garrett's going to look at Fango. Your little buddy wants to go to the Twilight Peaks as well. Something's familiar to him. Them up there.

Speaker E:

Well, then we have to go.

Speaker A:

Barge will be like well, that ancestors of founders of village barge come from come from Twilight region. I always wanted to see if I can find lost ancestors.

Speaker B:

Gareth looks at Lindstadt and Navy as our group. We were going there anyway, right? And now we have at least two other reasons to go there.

Speaker D:

Yeah, but we just have to make a stop on the way.

Speaker A:

What's your stop along the way again?

Speaker D:

That's to find a winds layer.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah. Well, that is in the twilight peak.

Speaker D:

Yeah, it's just on the outskirts.

Speaker A:

I thought you said no, it's on the shadow of Mount Angara. Escavia Scavia is basically on the other side of the Twilight Peak. It's in zorg. Perfect. Because I think what we determined was that you were kind of favoring things and that direction because hey, you're going nowhere anyways. Yes, I think I said you had found somewhere else on Shosara and you yeah, no Gandh or the island there. Who knows?
